The Australian Universities International Alumni Convention (AUIAC) is a bi-annual conference that brings together Australian Alumni from around the world. It provides opportunities for alumni to network and hear speakers focusing on the challenges and opportunities in today's global environment.
The Australian Universities International Alumni Convention (AUIAC) was conceived at the 1995 Annual General Meeting of the Australian Universities Alumni Council held in Adelaide, Australia. The first AUIAC was held in Adelaide in 1998, followed by Kuching, Malaysia in 2000; Melbourne, Australia 2002; Hong Kong in 2004 and Brisbane, Australia in 2006. The event has since been enjoying success under the leadership of the Right Honourable Pehin Sri Dr Haji Adbul Taib Mahmud, Chief Minister of Sarawak, Malaysia. An eminent alumnus of the University of Adelaide, Australia, Pehin Sri Taib has been the Patron of AUIAC since its inception together with the Governor General of Australia as Joint Patron. |
